The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, a National Historic Landmark since 1971, is an ideal venue for story-book weddings, elegant private and corporate receptions, and much more. Featured on the A&E television series America’s Castlesand in Hollywood’s movie, The Stepford Wives, the newly renovated first-floor of the Mansion offers a splendid Rotunda with soaring forty-two foot ceilings, and four beautifully furnished period rooms reflecting the magnificent Victorian decor of times past. The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is an ideal setting for a truly memorable event!

For a brief  73 years light beams from the lighthouse at Lighthouse Point extended welcoming, comforting arms to ships and sailors returning from voyages from the four corners of the world. Today the beacon from the New Haven Light House at Lighthouse Point is dark, but the tower remains, greeting ships from around the world to New Haven. The New Haven Lighthouse at Lighthouse Point in New Haven is located at the Eastern point of New Haven Harbor. Old Maps show it as Five Mile Point called that because that is the distance between it and the center of New Haven. It was also called Morris Point during the Colonial period.

Rocky Neck State Park

Rocky Neck’s varied terrain offers something for everyone. Clear waters and the stone-free beach with expanses of white sand make it ideal for swimming. Many beautiful picnic locations are scattered throughout the park.  The historic stone Ellie Mitchell Pavilion dominates the park’s western shoreline.  In the 1930’s, relief agencies constructed the curved masonry building of native materials and crafted supporting pillars with wood cut from each of the state parks and forests. Diverse trails within the park provide easy and interesting walks to the scenic salt marsh and to such points of interest as Baker’s Cave, Tony’s Nose and Shipyard. Family camping within walking distance of saltwater bathing is also popular at Rocky Neck with 160 wooded and open campsites offering weekenders and vacationers attractive overnight accommodations.

Hurd State Park

In the granite ledges of the split rock are veins of feldspar which was once mined extensively in Connecticut.  Shortly after its acquisition, Hurd became the focus of legal action to determine the ownership of mining privileges at the park.  The resulting court decision fortunately favored the State and averted the possible desolation of some 130 acres of land. The park is named after the Hurd family, which came to the Middle Haddam region from Massachusetts in 1710 and settled on the level bench of land high above the river.

The Webb Barn accommodates up to 135 people. Larger parties are required to supply a rented tent and extra seating. It is understood by the renting party that it is the Webb Barn and the grounds immediately surrounding the Barn that are being rented and that house tours and other museum functions may be also going on at the same time.  The rental season is April – November.

Putnam Memorial State Park is the oldest state park in Connecticut. It is named for Major General Israel Putnam, who chose the site that is now the park as the winter encampment for his men during the winter of 1778/1779, during the American Revolutionary War. The former encampment and park is located at the intersection of Route 107 and Route 58 in Redding, Connecticut, in the United States of America. It was established in 1887 by Redding resident Charles Burr Todd.

The four-basketball court layout on the main level of the Pitt Center can be set up to accommodate the space requirements for a 200-plus booth trade show.
